ABOUT ME
Being the first born, I grew up in front of a camera. I shifted from in front of the camera to behind it when I was fourteen and my family took a trip to Alaska. Everything was so beautiful and I wanted to capture it all. That was when I realized my love for photography. Since then, I have tried to take more creative pictures than just landscape and what is in front of me. For example, this summer I took pictures underwater using the underside of the surface as a reflection. I want my work to create emotion in the viewer and intrigue them. Through different photography classes and visiting galleries, I have absorbed different ideas and styles of photography. One of the artists that has greatly influenced me is Lisa Bettany. She captures beautiful landscape photos but takes them for unique angles so it makes them interesting and different. The stamp tool in Photoshop has saved many photos and projects of mine. I use photoshop mostly to touch up my pictures and make them look neater. Also, Lightroom is a large part of my editing process. I struggle with capturing good lighting in my works, but I am getting better. From the point I’m at now, I want to continue to hone my skills because I have a long way to go. I want to take clearer pictures that are more striking. I do not have an overall vision as an artist, but I love taking different types and styles of pictures and enjoy capturing a range of topics.
